EXPLORE. Chapter One
The Production
Chapter One was a pilot film for a series of short films produced by the U.S. National Whitewater Center. Cooper Lambla, several friends, and myself traveled through Zambia and Uganda in search of whitewater. The project attempts to illustrate the benefits of pursuing an active, outdoor endeavor.
The project was shot on two old DSLRs and two lenses. At one point (as seen in the film), I dislocated a rib while paddling the Zambezi river. Unable to continue to paddle serious whitewater on the trip, I instead focused on shooting. And since I had little prior filmmaking experience, I had ample time to figure out how to operate a camera.
